| This
hotel, the tallest in the world, is located in the
center of Shanghai's new economic development zone
in Pudong. The Grand Hyatt Shanghai is situated
in the tallest building in China, the second tallest
building in Asia and one of the most spectacular
buildings in Shanghai.
The
hotel itself does not even begin until you are
almost half way up the building, but the elevators
here travel incredibly fast so hold on to your
hats! The Hotel enjoys a good geographical location
-- 25 km from Hongqiao International Airport,
26 km from Pudong International Airport, 12 km
from Shanghai Railway Station and 6 km from the
center of the city. Transport over to Pudong from
Puxi is now good. For more information on the
Hotel building itself, click here! The Jinmao
Building
The
hotel has 555 suites and it is no exaggeration
to say that they are the most superior and the
largest suites in Shanghai. This is THE "in"
place to stay at the moment and with views like
the ones from every room in the hotel, it is no
great surprise. All the rooms are situated around
a circular atrium which whips up the center of
the hotel.
The
rooms all have access to the most up-to-date financial
and business information via special CATS high
speed computer devices. Guest bathrooms are furnished
with high-tech power showers amongst other luxurious
facilities. There is a well-equipped business
center, banquet halls and ten conference halls,
all equipped with high tech audio and video facilities
and ideal for conference or business meetings.
The
Hotel's restaurants are also spectacular and already
renowned throughout Shanghai. So too are the two
bars on the 88th floor of the building where Shanghai
stars frequently perform. And, when you have eaten
and drunk to your heart's content, why not take
a swim in the clouds in the Hotel pool on the
87th floor of the building!
This
Hotel really is like nothing else in the city
or indeed in China. If you have the money, (its
not cheap for this kind of decadence) and you
want, need, or just enjoy total luxury, the Grand
Hyatt is unbeatable.
