Strategically located along the busy Nanjing West Road , the JC Mandarin is right on the doorstep of the historic Shanghai Exhibition Center. This is a great area to be in, with easy access to most of Shanghai's key sights and with good transport links to the rest of the city. The Pudong International Airport bus terminal is just at the hotel gate, taking around 1 hour by bus, while the Hongqiao Airport is 15km away and only a 20 minutes' drive via the elevated highway. The railway station is also a mere 3km away.

This five star hotel of high quality and good location is one of the pricier options for Shanghai's top end hotels. However, the hotel was ranked in two consecutive years as one of the 200 best hotels worldwide by the"Leading Hotels In The World" organization and perhaps deserves this price range. There are in total 600 rooms here, ranging from Standard Rooms,Deluxe Rooms,Suites, and Deluxe Suites, to magnificent Presidential Suites. All rooms provide a well stocked mini-bar, IDD telephone with bathroom extension, individually controlled air-conditioning, in room safe and a remote controlled TV with satellite programs and in-house movies.
