Purpose of the Job

• The position is responsible for assisting the Senior Manager, Central & Western China and Manager, Trade Marketing, Central & Western China in protecting lion share of the outbound market, identifying new opportunities, planning and achieving all business objectives for incumbent’s designated geographical area.

• The position requires executing and controlling of all trade related business function and government with a view to promote travel from designated area to Hong Kong.

Dimensions

• Geographic: Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou and Yunnan

Internal Relationships

• Reports to:  Manager, Trade Marketing, Central & Western China

• Closely liaising with the following HO’s departments:

- Marketing

- Business Development

- Cruise & MICE

- Event Management

External Relations

• Local tourism bureaus and other relevant authorities for the purpose of promoting Hong Kong’s interests

• Travel trade in the designated area

• Attractions in HK including HKDL, HKOP, NP360, Madame Tussauds, etc.

• Non-trade partners of selected joint promotional activities

• Media and Event agency

• Design & Production House

Principal Accountabilities

• Manage all trade related functions to maximize travel to Hong Kong

• Execute the annual operating plan

• Controlling business activities consistent with objectives and in compliance with legal and policy requirements

• Playing an active role in trade relations e.g. collecting market intelligence from tourism industry, timely briefing partners on HKTB’s trade marketing direction, updating HK’s latest tourism development, bridging HK trade and Mainland trade for business collaboration etc.

• Implement effective trade programs

• Maintain excellent relationship with trade via regular product upgrade, joint business planning, agency motivation, trade fam and sales calls

• Provide continuous feedback on operating environment, industry development and competitive activities to the Area team

• Assist and execute any works as deemed necessary by Manager

Job Requirements

• University degree holder

• Minimum 5 years of Sales & Marketing experience, preferably in the tourism industry

• Good interpersonal and co-ordination skills, a good team player

• Self-motivated, proactive, result-driven and flexible

• High level of integrity
